Long run volume III

So today was supposed to be 10 miles. It was hot, I've been eating a lot of junk lately, and my foot killed before I even started. So I wussed out and only ran 5. Once my foot was warmed up I felt OK, but trying to run on an empty stomach is also kind of pointless. I really overslept, so I tried to rush out as quick as possible to avoid the heat. It wasn't like it was super hot, it was about 80, but that morning sun is soooo intense at 9:30 AM it really get's to me.

Anyway, we'll chalk this up to a bad overall week. Next weekend's run will hopefully go a lot better!

from your long standing history of foot pain, it sounds like you should maybe consider trying to strengthen in another area. you're obviously a runner at heart, but consider where the most miles of a triathlon are found- the bike. not only will this be easier on your foot, but by improving your biking, i think you'd have a better chance at gaining more on your opponents. it IS all about the bike.
